The Morgan Lee Band is a Glasgow-based group. The line-up is Hugh Lee (lead vocals, mandolin, octave mandolin, fiddle, harmonica & whistles); Anne Morgan (fiddle, viola, backing vocals); Tony Llewelyn (accoustic & resonator guitars, backing vocals); Clare Bradley (keyboard); and Andy Robertson (bass, backing vocals). They are particularly interested in the alternative edge of the folk music scene although they do play some 'oldies'. Their set list ranges from the more traditional Banks o’ the Spey (J. Scott Skinner) through to Dylan as well as an increasing amount of self penned material. Hence they term their music ’Celtic Eclectica’.
They have played at many folk clubs including The Star (Glasgow), Stirling and Irvine and have also performed at Glasgow's Renfrew Ferry. Over the coming months they are looking forward to performing in various pubs in Glasgow, including The Clutha Vaults and The Bon Accord, at Stirling Folk Club, and to supporting The Picts at the Arran Folk Festival in Brodick Town Hall in June 2011. They are also available for weddings incorporating an offshoot of the band – the Anvil Ceilidh Band. They have their own experienced caller/drummer (Steve McNeaney) who is a Ceilidh scene veteran, and they also have our own disco and lighting.
