Nick sings and plays guitar, bouzouki, cittern, flutes and whistles. Mainly traditional Scottish songs and tunes with a few Irish and English for good measure. Nick has recorded three CD's; 'Echoes of the South Wind', 'Castles' and 'The Wishing Tree'.
After a long absence from playing, Nick was encouraged to go along to the Rowantree Folk Club around 2004, and has been actively involved in the folk scene since that time. During 2008 he played at sessions and Open Stages at various Folk Festivals, including Glenfarg, Moniave, Innerleithen, Achtermuchty, Loanhead, Linlithgow, Kirriemuir, Selkirk and Colonsay.
Nick has appeared at several folk clubs throughout Scotland including, Chapelton Acoustic Music Club, Falkirk Folk Club, Rowantree Folk Club, Linlithgow Sessions, Clydesdale Folk Club, Stonehouse Folk Club and Balerno Folk Club. He has also supported Dick Gaughan at The Corn Exchange, Biggar and has appeared at the Biggar Little Festival. Nick has recently been a guest on the Sunday Session on 1530AM Celtic Music Radio.
Nick's latest album, 'The Wishing Tree', suffuses weel-kent, perhaps even well-worn songs, like The Lea Rig and The Bonny Lass O' Fyvie with rare emotion and power. Review - The Scots Magazine; July 2008.
