Pauline Alexander

Pauline AlexanderPauline Alexander (former Album Of The Week - BBC Radio Scotland - Iain Anderson Show) is a Glaswegian Singer Songwriter. In the last few years she has appeared at the Arran Folk Festival, Celtic Connections on the Danny Kyle Stage and the Merchant City Festival. 2012 sees her performing at the Burns An A' that Festival and there are a few more to be confirmed.

Although not strictly folk, she has a pure voice that is appreciated by those in the folk community for her honest, earthy and easy on the ear style. There have been some hints to suggest tones of Eva Cassidy or other strong Pauline Alexanderfemale singers from an era long since left behind. She has also enjoyed the loyal support of a fair number of Community radio stations at home and abroad and this includes her local station Celtic Music Radio. Iain Anderson once said of her "... her voice is quite de luxe! Never miss an opportunity of hearing her!". "Her live performance was simply stunning and was without doubt THE voice of this year's Festival" - Arran Folk Festival. Her influences include Joan Baez, Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy.
