Lonach Highlander Charlie Mathieson is organising another ceilidh at the Lonach Hall in Strathdon in an effort to raise funds for Help for Heroes. He has also been spurred on by a young friend's second fight against cancer at the age of 27, and he will donate money to their charity 'The Bosom Buds of Scotland'. The ceilidh will be held on Friday the 21st of June at 8.00pm (doors open 7.30pm) in the Lonach Hall in Strathdon. The band is the renowned ceilidh formation Clachan Yell. The first ceilidh that Charlie organized was held in 2010 when Charlie turned 40 and that was a very successful and memorable evening. Although always busy with work, Charlie thought it high time to repeat the exercise, put on some traditional Scottish entertainment and raise some money for two very worthwhile causes. Licensed bar. Two of the greatest living exponents of the North East of Scotland fiddle style - Paul Anderson and Jonny Hardie - are hosting a week of workshops and master-classes in the spectacular setting of Braemar Castle on Royal Deeside from 8th to 13th July.
