Falkirk Folk Club is well over 50 years old and has had many venues over the half century. The Bicycle Shed, The Star Inn, The Temperence Cafe, The Burns Bar, The Polmontbank Hotel, The Wallace Tavern, The Craiglee Inn and The Drookit Duck before moving to The Polish Club. Funny how nearly all these venues have some connection with alcohol.

The Club has seen many acts come and go. Famous names who have lined up at Falkirk include Barbara Dickson, Billy Connolly and Rab Noakes, Archie and Jean Fisher,Tom Paxton, The Dubliners.

The Clubs heydays were in the 60s and 70s then with a large youthful following. However, times changed and and during the early 90s the Club nearly folded, but thanks to the sterling work of Elma Harkness, then the 'Broons' and now the present committee and members the Club has a new lease of life. The membership is on the way up and the format has been changed to allow for a Session every 4 weeks or so. This gives budding musicians and songwriters a chance to air their talents.

The Club has a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere making for a good night out. You may not always enjoy the act but the floor spots or the heckling and the banter will always make up for it.

Come along if you are interested in music . Come on your own or bring a friend or two you can sample good music and perhaps the Polish beer and Vodka. Take part in our raffle and you could win 'a pook in the pooch'.
